Yuletide recs!

First of all, this was the fic I received for Yuletide:

Remixed (Pitch Perfect) - When a new a capella group emerges on the BU campus, both the Bellas and the Treblemakers find themselves in a difficult position. Will they be able to deal with this upstart rival in the world of a capella, and how will they do it?

I was so happy to get Pitch Perfect fic! This is a really sweet story, with the Bellas and Treblemakers teaming up to face off a rival group, and there are lots of little jokes between the characters, just like in canon :)

~~

I've read some other really great stories, too, and these are a few of my favourites (alphabetized by canon):

The Turn of The Time (Anne of Green Gables) - Anne is a red-headed witch. A time witch, specifically.

I really liked the concept of this Yuletide Madness story, which imagines that Anne has the ability to control the flow of time. It's a well-done fic that is complete crack but somehow really works!

With Love, Posy (Ballet Shoes) - "There was a terrific row when Nana found out I'd only written one letter so she's sent me to write to you all properly, only I don't have anything left to say now and I do think it's silly to have to copy out the same letter twice." Posy Fossil's letters to her sisters from ballet school in Czechoslovakia, 1936-1938.

This is a beautiful epistolary fic, which really does feel like canon. I love how Posy's mischievous, slightly selfish character comes through in the letters, but also how the other characters do too through her replies to them. Really lovely.

Moving In (Black Books) - Fran's got a new neighbor.

This is a really funny Yuletide Madness fic about Fran meeting Bernard for the first time. I can absolutely see it happening this way!

On Being Female (Discworld) - It began, as did so many bewilderments small and large, with a declaration by Captain Carrot.

I loved this story so much because it reads like a little slice of canon - the author really has the characters' voices perfectly! It takes gender issues and gives them a Discworld spin, and it absolutely works.

Never Mind the Bite Marks (Never Mind the Buzzcocks RPF) - Funny thing, for future reference: if you happen to ring the police as you run for your life — just to let them know that there's an army of zombies in the BBC Centre, and it'd be grand if they could pop by — they're not all that eager to help.

I don't normally read RPF, but this was just awesome. It got me from the moment Josh Groban walked in, and just got more hilarious from there. Definitely worth reading if you have ever even heard of NMTB :D

I Know That You Want To Get Your Thing Off (Pitch Perfect) - It starts with a text. And a pretty fantastic pair of ta tas.

I love fic about Fat Amy (I think she may be my favourite Pitch Perfect character), and I love the way she messes with Bumper in this story!

Poor Little Fancy Cat (Sabrina the Teenage Witch) - Sabrina and Harvey are settling in for their first Christmas as a married couple, and Salem feels so alone. [Sobbing]

I love this story! It feels like an episode of the show, and Salem especially is spot on. If you're a Salem fan, you really have to read this :)

The Care and Feeding of a Wild Adventurer (Uncharted) - Found at your local bookstore, the inside cover would state: "Reporter and documentary director, Elena Fisher, explains the proper care and feeding of a wild adventurer. Complete with a step-by-step guide, feeding schedule, and handy list of emergency numbers. *Now with anecdotes for every chapter."

Set after Uncharted 3, Victor Sullivan ropes Nathan Drake into a fact-finding, globe-trotting, adventure. Not to be left out, Elena Fisher pushes together the pieces to the puzzle and discovers they're in danger riiight at about the same time they're in too deep. Told from Elena's POV, with an OFC villain.

This is a great Uncharted fic - it's awesome to read Elena's POV, and the author came up with a whole new adventure for Drake, Sully & co. to get involved in.

I think you have to see this as an opportunity (West Wing/Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter) - A scene from 17 People, reimagined.

TOBY
Why does Hoynes think the President isn't going to run again? What's going on, Leo?

I just watched this scene a week or so ago, and this AU version of it makes for a really hilarious Yuletide Madness ficlet.

Anybody have any other favourites to rec me?
