Essays. Yes. I know....... Again.

Meh.. well, I'm a third of the way through the women in Gregorius. I have a feeling I'm going to come across rather feminist at the end. I'm not, particularly, but it's hard not to read it from a modern perspective, from which the attitudes to women look downright archaic.... well, I guess this is medieval German!! Anyways, it's on to suicide in Postwar Berlin tomorrow. I was doing a count of how many books in my courses involve someone dying through suicide or some other horrible way. It's most of them. I think the department is trying to cut student numbers with a bit of encouragement..... so you know who to blame if a German student is arrested for mass murder or something. Not me. Though I could murder these essays right now. And Gregorius, and his rock. Even if he DID get to be pope. Meh.

Anyways, should be writing right now. I need to get another 1000 words down in the next couple of hours. Tomorrow is cinema essay time, then work, then cinema essay finishing, then some SERIOUS editing. As in, my Kafka essay is rather crap (although I have some changes I can make thanks to Charles' expert proof-reading... see, you got in my LJ!!) and the other two are going to be pretty bad too. I haven't actually seen the whole film for the cinema one. Crap. Ah well. Maybe I'll strike lucky and someone will be able to lend it to me......

Of to write. I want to have done another 250 words by quarter to.
