I went shopping for clothes today for the first time in aaaaages (literally about a year!) and got some pretty things from Zara, all of them on sale. Yay!

This is what I got:

I got two skirts and a necklace from C&A yesterday for under €20. Result!

I realised today as I was walking through Alexanderplatz that I would actually happily come back and live in Berlin again in the future. I think the difference between Berlin and London for me is that, although I love London and get a great buzz from living there, I always feel slightly in awe of the fact that I do. I never quite feel like I'm part of the place, more like I'm a constant fly-on-the-wall observing how amazing and busy it all is. In Berlin, I feel like I'm part of it all, like I'm not just existing here but both giving and taking something from the city. There's a sense of community here. It's a really nice feeling. I think that it's maybe that that makes people come here for two days and leave four years later. It's pretty amazing.

I am also very annoyed right now, because my voice has been dead for about three weeks now. I can't actually produce any note higher than an F above middle C when singing, and I sound like I've been chain-smoking for 50 years anyway. It's ridiculous. And even worse, I'm supposed to be singing at my party in a week and a half, and there's going to be a load of music biz people there, and I think I'm going to sound so stupid. So I'm kind of worried about the whole thing. I also don't really want to end up with nodules - for one thing Julian (my singing teacher) would kill me. Ergh. I think I'm just going on total voice maintenance from now until next Saturday - no alcohol, only drinking water, vocalzones, and steaming with tea tree oil twice a day. Hopefully that will help a bit.

Woohoo, exams are nearly over! I'm having a house party! Hurrah! Life is nice when all I have is summer to look forward to :) Have to sort out some Berlin-ish things (because year abroad coordinator neglected to tell us that we actually have to FILL IN FORMS) but never mind. Plus, it is my lovely sis (otherwise known as [livejournal.com profile] lisbee)'s birthday tomorrow (well, today now I guess) so we're going to go eat cake after my exam, and then drink in the evening. Hurrah.

I have been on an internet shopping spree today... I bought an epilator, of all things! Just can never be bothered with waxing, and yay! Also some earrings from http://www.etsy.com, and some lip balm. And lisb's present of course :) So hurrah. I'm so looking forward to bag and bikini shopping for my holiday. And actually doing exercise for once, and exciting things like that. Now is serious stomach toning time, or I am going to look like a blob, heh.

In between the revision and work, this week is going to be fun! I'm going to the theatre tonight (and Saturday, heh) with [livejournal.com profile] nqdonne, and on Saturday night we're going to watch German films or something equally fun. So that's my cultural requirement for this month... hehe. And on Sunday I'm going Easter Egg hunting!! Hurrah!! Just hoping that little kids don't steal them before we find them...

Revision has been planned and I think will go OK... I'm looking forward to it in a strange, masochistic way. But I am aware that I almost never stick to revision plans and end up panicking, so in all probability that will happen this time, too.

In less serious news, I had a late night internet shopping binge last night. I've found some fantastic new sites, which I found via http://notcot.org (a great design site flagging up new and interesting things on the internet - it's updated every few hours). Anyway, one site is http://www.etsy.com. It's kinda like ebay for people who make things. There's some AMAZING stuff on there - I bought my friend a bag for her bday but there's so much I could have bought myself. I ended up buying two tshirts and a hoody from www.threadless.com. One tshirt says 'to err is human, to arr is pirate' and the other is a parody on the whole half full/half empty thing. The hoody has the Communist Party on it, which I fear is a bit of an old joke, but never mind... (famous communists, having a party...). I like hoodies. Mmm, warm. I also bought a tshirt with ninjas on a few days ago. Hurrah!

Also, hilarious!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W91sqAs-_-g Alanis Morrissette singing My Humps... She sounds strangely like Shakira in bits of it.
