On things that are wrong
May. 11th, 2005 10:01 amSometimes we do things that are wrong. They may be on purpose, or less so. They may hurt others or only hurt ourselves. But sometimes, they are still wrong.
Sometimes the things that are wrong don't seem so wrong when we do them, and only when we look back and sigh do we know that they were indeed wrong. Sometimes when we did them we enjoyed it.
Sometimes, even though we know that these things are wrong, we still do them again. Sometimes we still enjoy it.
Sometimes these wrong things seem only wrong to ourselves. Sometimes everyone knows they are wrong. Sometimes we know other people do them too, and know too that they are wrong.
Sometimes it's hard to know what is wrong. Sometimes wrong things turn out to be right.
Sometimes the things we did that were wrong stay with us and haunt us daily, or sometimes they hide in memory and only return when least expected. Sometimes we don't remember them at all.
Sometimes it's better to remember that those wrong things are in the past, and wanting and doing are not the same thing.
Sometimes it's hard not to be wrong.
Sometimes being wrong can teach us how to be right next time.
