My name is Bernard. I am 82, and I have one arm that is actually a fin. In my spare time I like to groove on down at the disco. Boogie! What about yourself?
Okay, I'll start with asking you some questions- beware!
What are you studying at King's College and where/how do you live (with family/roommates/dorm)? What do you enjoy doing most offline? Do you know any of your online/lj friends personally? Do you write/have you ever written any fanfic?
See, I'm quite a nosy person. ;-) I'm also mostly friendly, 23 years old, German, female, currently trying to get into a Ph.D. program in law. I'm reading, but not writing a lot of fanfic, mostly in the HP fandom. I'm in a relationship, generally get on well with my family, live by myself and, well, if you want to know more you have to ask, because I'm not so good with the personal info thing...
Wow, lots of questions! I'm in my second year studying German with a little bit of Music at King's College, but next year I'll be spending a year doing Germanistik at the Humboldt in Berlin. This year I live in a house with 2 other girls who I met in halls last year, and next year I'm going to live with a girl from my course (we've already found a flat near to Alexanderplatz!)
Offline I love to sing and be on stage, and I particularly like writing songs. I actually recently wrote the music for our German Society play (Alice im Wunderland by Roland Schimmelpfennig), which was a lot of fun :)
I know a couple of online friends in person - I used to play an rpg called Tazlure (http://www.tazlure.nl) which is a creative writing based medieval setting, and I made friends with a few people from there who I've since met in person. I also know a few of my LJ friends in 'real life', either because we've all ended up living in London or because I knew them before I knew they had an LJ!
I've written a little bit of fanfic :) The bits I actually like are here: http://mk-recs.livejournal.com/tag/my+fic:+one%20+shots I've never written very much fanfic beause I much prefer to read it, but I do like doing exchanges :)
Wow, that turned out quite long! So.. do you have any particular favourite fics? And also, what other fandoms do you like to read? And because it was a good question, what's your favourite thing to do offline?
Hm, well, so that you can place who I am, I wrote the ridiculously long Remus/Hermione for you in hpspringsmut. :D
I'm Mara *waves* and uhm.... I'm 23 and kind of quiet and a little shy, but I'm always around if needed for anything. I live in Washington State. The only big things happening for me right now are that I had a DVT (blood clot) in my leg last month and just was told its a genetic thing so I'm coping with that as best I can; and this summer I have an audition for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, which is really my #1 dream job in the world so I'm very excited and veeeery nervous!
Do you do exchanges a lot? I tend to just because they'll keep me writing SOMETHING, although the past few weeks I've been in a block writing wise (so I've been working on the drawing; I got a graphics tablet a month and a half ago). Outside of HP I write some short stories, but nothing that's really solid just yet.
This is a neat little idea; getting to know people, but it IS hard to really say anything interesting about yourself, isn't it? :)
I've done a couple of exchanges, starting with Yuletide at Christmas. Since then I've done spingsmut, obviously :) and also I did springtime gen as well, although those haven't been revealed yet! I'm also doing femgenficathon too, although that's not due til July, so I've got a while yet. I like doing exchanges because they actually force me to finish my fics (I'm awful at that otherwise), but I don't really write much outside of that - I've done the odd one shot but that's about it.
What sort of things do you draw? I can't draw at all so I'm always in awe of people who can :)
